2 Layers Unvarnished Parquet is a stratified floor, consisting of a thin upper layer of noble wood (with a nominal thickness between 3 and 4 mm), glued on a wooden support (Birch or Poplar or Fir or Larch or other) .
3 Layers Unvarnished Parquet is a layered wooden floor in 3 layers, glued together with high-strength adhesives: an upper layer of noble wood with a nominal thickness of 3 mm, an intermediate layer in Birch wood or similar and a counterbalance in coniferous wood.
These types of parquet are not varnished and lend themselves to natural or color customized finishes with more or less glossy paints, hardened with UV rays during the production phase.
Both of them is suitable for flooring any type of environment subject to heavy traffic, such as homes, commercial areas, offices, studios, hotels, shops. and gyms.

2 Layers Parquet can be glued or nailed (for big planks)
2 Layers Parquet must be laid on consistent, stable, dry and well-leveled substrates with two-component or one-component polyurethane adhesives, suitable for the type of wood species and its format.
For floating installation it is advisable to use a cushioning mat of polyurethane foam or a vapor barrier (in case of rising damp) between the substrate and the floor.
The installation of the 3 Layers Parquet is floating (without glue) with tongue and groove interlocking.
It is quick and easy to mount on any new or existing substrate, as long as it is stable, dry, clean and well leveled.
It is recommended to use a vinyl adhesive for bonding and sealing the joints and a damping or vapor barrier mat (in case of rising damp) between the substrate and the floor.
Furthermore, it is always necessary to provide, by using wedges, a perimeter expansion space between all the walls and the floor of not less than 8-10 mm.
It is mandatory to install expansion joints in rooms with a width or length greater than 8 meters.
Before proceeding with the installation of the wooden elements with the glued or floating technique, take the utmost care to:

  • keep the packages indoors, in rooms protected from bad weather
  • isolate the packages from the ground and stack them in such a way as not to undergo deformation
  • transport the packages of the elements to the environments in which they are to be installed
  • make sure that the ambient humidity and the temperature of the rooms have reached the appropriate levels, i.e. relative humidity of the air 45%-65% and temperature 16-24 C°
  • 2 and 3 Layers Parquet maintenance imposes both ordinary and extraordinary care.
The first cleaning of the Floating Parquet can be performed two days after installation.
For the ordinary care it is advisable to remove the dust with a vacuum cleaner or antistatic cloth and wash the floor with neutral detergent. For a quick cleaning use a damp very wrung out soft rag.
For extraordinary care, suggested every 10-15 years, you must turn to specialized staff, that will sand the floor to remove scratches or scores, or just to revive colour, shininess and look.

    ORDINARY MAINTENANCE

  • provide a doormat at the entrance to the house, kept clean, to remove dust and abrasive particles from the soles of the shoes
  • clean the soles of the shoes on the mat thoroughly
  • routinely remove dust with a mop or electrostatic dust-catching cloth or by vacuum cleaner with brushes for parquet
  • usually wash the floor with a cloth dampened with water and a neutral or specific floor detergent for the type of finish and not foamy or aggressive
  • never wash with boiling water and / or steam-producing appliances and never use solvents, bleach or ammonia
  • avoid contact with any foamy product or substances, both chemical and natural, which are abrasive, acidic and corrosive

  • EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE

After years and years of daily use, the parquet may be worn, damaged with a change in color, both due to exposure to light and the natural phenomenon of wood oxidation.
To revive the flooring and restore the wood to its original state, you can proceed with maintenance of the walking surface by contacting expert and qualified personnel, who respect the general safety standards and who carry out the typical phases of:

  • replacement of damaged elements
  • sanding of the walking surface
  • possible grouting
  • new painting-finishing cycle
